What is your first memory of wanting to become a designer?

I took my first art class that I remember in the 2nd or 3rd grade.  I remember walking into that room and thinking, “there is so much  cool stuff to play with”  During that class my favorite project was a simple weaving project.  We built a little “loom” of cardboard and got to create our own little woven piece of our design.  I remember I choose purple, blue, and yellow yarn and worked away at creating a pattern (shocking).

What inspires you?

Travel is my number one source of inspiration.  I live to discover new sights, people, tastes, and experiences.

What is your most prized possession?

I believe, generally speaking, there are two types of people – collectors and experiencers.  I fall into the latter category.  I really don’t have a ton of stuff.  I am constantly purging my closet down to only things that I love right now.  Don’t get me wrong, I love love beautiful things. I just don’t need lots of them.  That being said one of the things I treasure is a few pesetas I have from my first trip to Barcelona before the Euro.  It reminds me of how lucky I am that I got to experience traveling abroad in a pre-911 world.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Paris, of course.  :-)
